From his excercise studio in Beverly Hills - Slimmons,  managed to make himself the weight loss guru of America.  His Sweatin' to the Oldies" sold millions of copies and made him a media celebrity along with the fact that his flamboyant and outrageous style was often paradied and got him invited on all kinds of TV and radio talk shows, mine included.   This particular interview really stressed my producer and myself.  We had promoted his appearance since the day before at a certain time and he missed that deadline.  Then we announced a new time that morning, and he missed that one too.  So, by the time he finally did get into the show, I was not amused.  That said, Richard, with his amazing personality, made me forgot all those problems and I ended up enjoyed out talk a great deal.  Here is the interview that almost didn't take place....with Richard Simmons on KRAK Radio
