The 2024 Paris Olympic Games bring the spotlight of the world to a collection of the world's greatest athletes. I have always enjoyed watching the Olympics and cheering for Team USA.
I would like to take a few minutes each day of this year's Olympics and share a devotional GodPonder, a few facts, and stories from past and present Olympics.
In Today's Episode, we look at 1 Corithians 9:24-27
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (ESV)
We also meet Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone a Track and Field star from the USA, who has made some bold statements about her faith.
There has also been a bit of controversy about the opening ceremonies and we will talk briefly about our response.
